Quality Measures for Surgical Outcomes
Stanford Health Care has a long tradition and worldwide reputation for surgical innovation. For example, 50 years ago, Stanford Health Care doctors performed the first heart transplant in the US. Today, we perform more than 70 heart transplants each year. Our one-year and five-year survival rates are above the national average.
In addition, National Surgical Quality Improvement Program, run by the American College of Surgeons, recognized Stanford Health Care for meritorious outcomes in surgical patient care in 2016.
